Clients seeking pet food assistance must submit an application, and be approved, prior to receiving a one-time pet food allocation. About HOPE's Founder
HOPE Founder, Susan Reabe
HOPE Founder and former Director, Susan Reabe, is a retired Registered Nurse, who is married to a retired local veterinarian. Susan has had many cherished and fondly remembered pets throughout her lifetime, and the couple currently share their home with several four-legged family members.
Susan's idea for starting HOPE arose from hearing stories of people who had been forced to surrender beloved pets to the local humane society because, due to unforeseen temporary financial challenges, the owners could not afford pet food. Susan began baking and selling healthy, home-made dog cookies, then using the money she made from her efforts to buy food for pets who might otherwise have gone hungry, while their owners worked to recover financially. The rest, as they say, is history.
